You can send text messages to a candidate—and view their entire conversation history—on the Email/SMS tab of their profile. Plus, you can send a batch SMS to multiple candidates from the Candidates view of any position.
The SMS Add-on is required to send text messages to candidates.
Hiring Manager access (or a custom role with the appropriate permissions) is required to view conversations and engage with candidates.

How to text a single candidate
To send an SMS to an individual candidate:
Locate the candidate with a search or from a position or pool.
Open the candidate’s profile.
Click Email/SMS near the top of the window.
Click SMS.
Add your message, and click Send SMS.
If you’d like to schedule your message to be sent in the future, click the clock icon to select a date or timeframe, or to enter a specific date and time.
Once your message has been sent, you'll see it in the conversation history, from newest to oldest.
Note: Scheduled messages will be sent according to the sender’s time zone.

How to text a batch of candidates
To send the same SMS to multiple candidates:
Click Positions/Pools in the left sidebar.
Open the correct position.
Click Candidates near the top of the window.
Apply any filters or segments you need.
Click the checkbox next to each candidate you’d like to send an SMS to.
Click More near the top of the window and select Send SMS from the dropdown.
Add your message, and click Send SMS.
If you’d like to schedule your message to be sent in the future, click the clock icon to select a date or timeframe, or to enter a specific date and time.
Note: Scheduled messages will be sent according to the sender’s time zone.

Candidate Consent
By default, Candidates will be asked for consent to receive text messages about a position when they apply through a job board or your career portal. But what about when you add or source a candidate another way?
If you need to request SMS consent from a candidate who was referred or added manually, you can send a request from their candidate profile.
To request SMS consent:
Open the candidate’s profile.
Click the More menu (three dots) near the top of the window.
Click Request SMS Consent.
Click Yes, please to confirm.
The candidate will receive an email with a link to provide their consent.
SMS limits and credits
You can purchase the SMS Add-on to add monthly SMS credits to your account. No matter which plan you’re on, we’ll send you an email when you’ve reached 90% of your text message limit for the month.
SMS Validation
SMS providers and mobile carriers require validation to send messages from Breezy. You’ll need to provide the following when you buy an SMS plan:
Full business address
Business phone number
Contact person’s first and last name
Contact person's email
You’ll be able to send text messages to candidates as soon as our SMS provider verifies your account info. The verification process could take up to a week.
Supported countries
Breezy’s standard SMS options include text messages sent to numbers in the US and Canada. You can purchase a custom SMS plan that includes other countries or additional credits. Contact our sales team for more details and to find out which countries are supported.
FAQs
Does the “from” phone number for SMS messages stay the same?
Yes. Candidates will be able to reply to that number today, tomorrow, or any time in the future and it will still link to their candidate profile.
Can candidates opt out of receiving messages?
Absolutely! We respect the rights and privacy of all candidates. If they reply with STOP, UNSTOP, UNSUBSCRIBE, or CANCEL they won’t receive additional messages.
How many credits does each SMS use?
Each Breezy SMS credit is equal to one “segment” sent by the mobile carrier. Most messages use one segment (and one credit), but if a message is long—or includes emoji or special characters—it could use multiple credits. Find out more about how SMS credits work.
Do incoming text messages count against my credits?
No. SMS credits only apply to messages you send to candidates. There’s no limit on how many you can receive.
