Scheduling Candidate Messages

If right now isn’t the best time to send a message, you can write it now and send it later. Find out how to schedule candidate messages.

Whether you're composing messages off-hours or powering through a batch of messages ahead of a vacation, you know that right now isn't always the best time to send an email or text message that you've just typed to your candidate.

With scheduled messaging, you can set your messages to send at a later date. You can also access the queue of scheduled messages, to see what’s on deck and to watch out for overlap and redundancy.

Hiring Manager access is required to view conversations and engage with candidates.

How to schedule a message to a candidate

You can delay an email or SMS when you send it from the candidate’s profile.

  1. Open the candidate’s profile.

  2. Click Email/SMS near the top of the window.

  3. Click Compose Email or SMS.

  4. Compose your message or choose a message template.

  5. Click the clock icon next to the Send button.

  6. Choose a timeframe from Presets, click a date on the calendar, or enter a specific date and time under At A Specific Time.

  7. Click Send Email.

Scheduled messages will be sent according to the sender’s time zone. If you selected only a date, your message will be queued for delivery on the date you selected, at the same time of day you created it.

Once sent, you’ll be able to see the message in the candidate’s conversation history.

How to change a scheduled message

If you’d like to cancel the message or send it before the scheduled date, you can view and change it in the candidate’s conversation history.

  1. Open the candidate’s profile.

  2. Click Email/SMS near the top of the window.

  3. Locate the queued message and click Click to display.

  4. Click Send Now to send the message immediately or X Cancel to delete the message.

Note: Once a message has been scheduled, you can’t change the contents of the message. If you need to change the message, create and schedule a new message and delete the original.
