You can collect general information about candidates with an application form, like contact info, work and education history, and a resume or cover letter. But if you need to collect more detailed info from the beginning, your best bet is to add a questionnaire to the application.
Candidate Questionnaires are available to customers on all paid plans.
Admin permission is required to create and edit questionnaires.
Important note: Some questions, questionnaire features, and response types aren’t allowed or compatible with the application process of certain job boards. To help ensure you’re not losing visibility and are getting as many applicants as possible:
Use only single-section questionnaires.
Avoid using video response questions.
Avoid using file upload questions.
Don’t ask for sensitive personal info, including social security numbers, driver’s license numbers, or bank account information.
If you want to use a questionnaire with multiple sections, video responses, or file uploads early in the recruitment process, or if you need to collect certain PII for certain roles, consider sending a questionnaire by email or with a stage action as soon as candidates reach your Applied stage.
How to add a questionnaire to an application form
You can add a questionnaire to an application when you create a position, or later in the positions’ settings.
Click Positions/Pools in the left sidebar.
Open the correct position.
Click the gear icon ⚙️ in the top-right corner of the window to open Position Settings.
Click Application Form in the left sidebar.
Scroll to Available Questionnaires and choose a questionnaire from the dropdown.
If the perfect questionnaire doesn’t already exist, just click + Add a Questionnaire to create one!
Click Save Changes.
Note: You can’t use a questionnaire with your application form when Incognito Apply is enabled.
